The York football team closed out the 2018 season on a high note with a 14-7 West Suburban Conference Silver Division win against Downers Grove North.
The win put York at 4-5 overall and 3-3 in WSC Silver play. The Dukes were a win shy of becoming playoff eligible after winning only one game last year.
York scored all its points in the second quarter and took a 14-7 lead into halftime. Downers North scored its only touchdown in the third quarter.
Senior Joe Javorek completed 15 of 20 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Nick Conroy ran for 61 yards on 15 carries. Owen Pechous caught three passes for 27 yards and one touchdown, while Mike Pedote caught a seven-yard touchdown pass. Joe Orrico caught six passes for 88 yards, while Tyrone Birmingham three balls for 63 yards. Anothy Lapiana kicked a pair of extra points.
York won its final two games of the season.
