Saturday morning event with Villa Park Recreation
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and the family to Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park, 320 E. Kenilworth in Villa Park on Saturday, July 21, and Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon for free Super Sensational Saturday Mornings. You’ll enjoy an interactive performance, crafts and face painting. The July 21 event will feature Miss Jamie’s Farm, a high-energy, audience-interactive performance. Aug. 18 will feature Ken Schultz, “The Flying Fool,” who uses his comedic face to entertain all ages. This Saturday is also the annual “Big Rigs and Kids” event so make sure to take a look at all the fun trucks and equipment.
Basketball in York Center
York Center Basketball: Spend Thursday nights playing basketball and enjoying some friendly competition at the York Center Park District. Online or phone registration is required as there will be no registration at the door. Register early because the maximum to play each night is 15, and only people who have paid in advance will be allowed to enter the building. There is a $5 discount if you sign up for six dates, and another $5 discount if you sign up for 12 dates. Ages: 18 years and up. Villa Park Recreation will hold a new session of swim lessons July 23 to Aug. 2. Lessons are available for all skill levels and are held at Jefferson Pool 10-10:45 a.m. or 11-11:45 a.m.
