Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
March 1
Police said Claudia G. Alonso-Hernandez, 33, of Addison, had an original warrant t out of the Addison Police Department for endangerment of a child.
Police said Cristian Roman, 42, of Chicago, had a warrant out of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
Feb. 28
Oscar Salazar, 29, of Addison, was charged with aggravated resisting arrest in the 1600 block of W. Lake at around 8:31 p.m. Police said that during a minor traffic stop, it was determined that passenger Salazar had numerous active warrants. While being placed in handcuffs, Salazar resisted arrest by pulling away from officers, according to police.
Feb. 27
Luis Garcia, 35, of Addison, was charged with DUI and no valid driver’s license subsequent to a traffic stop near Kennedy and Friendship at around 7:39 p.m.
A 25-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 1-100 block of W. Nevada Ave., Glendale Heights, at around 8:18 p.m. Police said that during an investigation of domestic battery, the Glendale Heights Police Department was requested to attempt to locate the suspect and take him into custody. The Glendale Heights Police Department located and transported him to the Addison Police Department where he was processed for striking a victim in Addison with his vehicle, knocking victim to the ground.
Feb. 25
Edward L. Giese Jr., 55, of Addison, was charged with battery at a restaurant in the 1400 block of W. Lake St. at around 3:23 p.m. Police said officers responded to the restaurant for a call of a subject who was asked to leave, and was attempting to enter a vehicle in the parking lot that was not his. According to police, Giese Jr. threw red wood chips at a police officer, striking the officer on the legs and vest.

A 38-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 700 block of W. Lake Manor Drive at around 8:17 p.m.
Jan. 23
A 39-year-old Addison woman was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of W. Army Trail at around 1:04 p.m.
Feb. 24
William H. Weaver, 51, of Aurora, was charged with two counts of DUI, making an improper turn and no insurance near Roosevelt and Ardmore at around 1:39 a.m.
Ryszard Wicki, 51, of Wood Dale, was charged with aggravated DUI while license revoked, aggravated driving while license revoked, obstructing identification and no insurance near North and Kramer at around 10:33 p.m.
A 42-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 300 block of N. Mission at around 2:34 a.m.
Feb. 23
Tavaris R. Hayden, 33, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of retail theft at a store at around 6:29 p.m. Nov. 4, 2017. The original complainant and arrest warrant were issued Feb. 23.
Feb. 22-Feb. 23
Theft was reported at Rotary Park between the above dates. Police said an unknown suspect stole a backpack that was inadvertently left unattended.
Feb. 22
Terry L. Lewis, 18, of Villa Park, was charged with two counts of battery at Willowbrook High School at around 9:33 a.m.
Feb. 21
Burglary was reported in the 400 block of W. Elm. Police said that between 11:55 a.m. and 12:50 p.m., an unknown suspect entered a vehicle that was parked secured and unoccupied and stole a piece of survey equipment.
Feb. 20
Retail theft was reported at a store at around 1:08 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect removed several Bose Sound Bars and an Apple TV from the display and left the store without paying for the items.
Oct. 10, 2017-Feb. 20
John Ryan, 31, of Woodridge, was charged with two counts of identity theft, four counts of forgery, theft, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended in the 1-100 block of E. Highland between the above dates.
Feb. 19
Gema Garcia, 21, of Bellwood, was charged with retail theft and criminal trespass to property at a store between 5:42 and 7:26 p.m. Dec. 22, 2017. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued Feb. 19.
Criminal damage was reported at Lufkin Pool at around 8 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect damaged the gate at the pool.
Feb. 16-Feb. 19
Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt between the above dates. Police said that between 6 p.m. Feb. 16 and 9 p.m. Feb. 19, an unknown suspect broke windows on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the car as well as the side view mirrors on a vehicle that was parked and unoccupied in the lot.
Feb. 18
A 27-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery, resisting a police officer and unlawful interference with reporting a domestic violence incident in the 500 block of N. Ardmore at around 6:38 p.m.
Theft was reported at a restaurant at around 5:52 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole a purse, which was concealed by jackets in a booth.
Feb. 4-Feb. 18
Criminal damage was reported near Vermont and Ardmore. Police said that between 12 noon Feb. 4 and 12:36 p.m. Feb. 18, an unknown suspect had scratched the passenger side of a vehicle, stole fog light covers and cracked the windshield of a vehicle.
Feb. 15
Karol N. Binkul, 31, of Addison, was charged with identity theft/possession of another person’s credit card, in the 300 block of W. St. Charles at around 8:21 a.m.
