In recent action, the York boys basketball team dropped a 55-52 West Suburban Conference Silver Division game to Proviso West, but came back to score conference wins against Lyons Township by a 62-48 count and Glenbard West by a score of 64-57.
The 2-1 stretch left the Dukes at 14-8 overall and 4-3 in WSC Silver play.
Through 21 games, Nick Kosich was leading the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game. Erik Cohn was next at 11.0 points, while Angelo Martucci was averaging 9.9 points. Nate Shockey was averaging 6.8 points and Sam Walsh was at 5.5 points.
Kosich was tops on the team with 52 three-pointers (41.3 percent). Cohn had 35 three-pointers (40.2 percent), while Shockey had 19 (30.6 percent).
Martucci was tops on the team in shooting percentage at 53.3 percent from the field. Walsh was next at 48.7 percent.
Jeff Grace was leading the team in free-throw percentage at 92.9 percent (13-for-14), while John Milling was next at 85.7 percent (18 of 21). Cohn was at 78.4 (29 of 37) and Kosich was at 70.6 (24 of 34).
York was shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from three and 67.2 percent from the foul line.
Walsh was tops in rebounds for York with Cohn, Martucci and Kosich right behind. Martucci was leading the team in assists with 51, while Kosich had 50. Kosich was tops in steals with 45, while Martucci had 37.
York had outscored its opponents 1,127 to 1,002 through the first 21 games of the season.
