Lombard police report—October 24

INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Assault, battery

Oct. 14
A school dean at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main, advised at 9:04 a.m. that a student threatened to assault another student. The suspected student was disciplined by the school.

Criminal damage, trespassing

Oct. 8

A victim in the 2300 block of S. Chase reported that a subject punched the door to her residence, causing damage.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

Oct. 15

Franklin Bartlett, 53, of Lombard, was charged with disorderly conduct in the 100 block of N. Main at 7:39 a.m.

Oct. 13

A 56-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were charged with domestic battery in the 400 block of N. Martha at 8:35 p.m.

Oct. 12

Edwin Omar Valentin, 36, of Bolingbrook, was charged with disorderly conduct in the 400 block of W. Graham at 5:15 p.m.

Oct. 9

Ieshea McCornell, 38, of Lombard, was issued a local ordinance citation for disorderly conduct in the 500 block of W. Pleasant at 7:48 a.m. Police said McCornell hit the hood of a another person’s car with her fist.

DUI, transportation of open alcohol

Oct. 14

Keith Allen, 63, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, speeding and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle near Butterfield and Meyers at 2:08 a.m.

Oct. 13

Michael Lewis, 34, of Lombard, was charged with aggravated DUI, DUI, resisting, fleeing, driving while license revoked, driving while license suspended, improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage, possession of open alcohol, no seat belt, no insurance, no registration plate on vehicle, failure to signal, not driving on the right side of the road, leaving a motor vehicle with the engine on and not properly braked, failure to secure new registration, failure to comply with registration statues and failure to yield to emergency vehicles near S. Finley and Oak Creek at 3:08 a.m.

Vanessa Trevino, 37, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, speeding and disobeying a traffic control device in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 2:15 a.m.

Oct. 12

Anahja Whitt, 29, of Westerville, Ohio, was charged with DUI, speeding, driving while license suspended and no insurance near Route 53 and the Illinois Prairie Path at 2:33 a.m.

Oct. 9

Sammy Wallace, 51, of South Holland, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage near Main and Main Drive at 9:38 p.m.

Oct. 7

Elora Kozil, 28, of Wheaton, was charged with DUI, criminal trespass to vehicles, open alcohol and no insurance, while Juan Carlos Velazquez-Duran, 29, of Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle and open alcohol by a passenger near Roosevelt and School at 12:54 a.m. Police said Velazquez-Duran was also served with a warrant.

Harassment, threats

Oct. 15

A complainant in the 200 block of E. Central reported receiving multiple emails from a subject. Those emails included messages to the hockey team of the complainant’s son.

Oct. 9

A victim in the 700 block of E. Maple said an unknown person called her and said they are holding her daughter hostage and they want money. The victim was advised that it was a scam.

Oct. 7

A complainant in the 500 block of S. Brewster advised at 3:59 p.m. that a subject calls and texts her both at home and her place of employment. The content is often harassing in nature. The subject was advised to stop, and he agreed he would.

Identity theft, fraud

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported 10 incidents of identity theft or fraud in the village between Oct. 7 and Oct. 15.

Possession of cannabis

Oct. 12

Dashaun Manning, 19, of Lisle, was issued citations for possession of cannabis by a driver, no valid registration, driving while license suspended and no insurance near E. Roosevelt and S. Ahrens at 2:33 a.m.

Reckless driving

Oct. 13

Cristian Paz-Diaz, 30, of Lombard, was issued a citation for reckless driving in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 6:34 a.m.

Suspicious incident

Oct. 13

A complainant in the 500 block of S. Chase advised that after agreeing to pay a couple hundred dollars to have his driveway sealed by four men that randomly drove up in a truck, the men tried to charge him $2,400. The complainant paid $200 and they left the scene.

Oct. 11

A complainant in the 100 block of W. June said two unknown women rang the doorbell and said they “have an appointment.” The women left in a black SUV.

Oct. 8

A complainant in the 100 block of S. Main reported that someone is coming into her house and putting an oil into her coffee.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

Oct. 14

An employee at Addlawn Landscaping, 960 N. Lombard, reported that an unknown suspect stole a full 5-gallon gas can from an unsecured trailer. The suspected vehicle is a silver Ford F-150.

Oct. 11

A victim in the 2700 block of E. Technology said her ring was stolen while she was having surgery.

Oct. 9

A victim in the 1000 block of Hunter reported someone stole her purse while she was at a 7-Eleven.

Oct. 8

Michael Wojtas, 26, of Lombard, was charged with burglary in the 1100 block of S. Main at 11:10 p.m.

Oct. 7

A complainant in the 700 block of S. Westmore-Meyers reported that a subject stole a large sum of money from the National Association of Postal Supervisors.

Oct. 4-Oct 7

A complainant in the 200 block of W. Eisenhower advised over the weekend an unknown suspect cut off catalytic converters from two vehicles: a 2012 Chevy truck and a 2020 Chevy truck.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between Oct. 7 and Oct. 15: Mariano’s, 345 W. Roosevelt, at 4:11 p.m. Oct. 10; Dick’s Sporting Goods, 810 E. Butterfield, at 2:51 p.m. Oct. 13; Arco, 1 E. St. Charles, at 4:25 p.m. Oct. 13; and Target, 60 Yorktown, at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 14.

Oct. 12

Sharon Cabrera-Puyot, 50, of Elk Grove Village, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 6:51 p.m.

Oct. 8

Michaele Doherty, 53, of La Grange Park, was charged with retail theft at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 2:47 p.m.

Warrant arrest

Oct. 13
Police said Joseph Franke, 22, of Berkeley, was served with a warrant in the 700 block of E. Butterfield at 3:57 p.m.
