INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES
The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.
Assault, battery
Sept. 8
A complainant at Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, reported at 9:50 p.m. that a subject described as a black male in a Nissan pointed a gun at him while he was standing near the store. The complainant rode his bicycle to the Lombard Police Department to report the incident.
Criminal damage, trespassing
Sept. 3
An employee at 2XL Fitness, 1141 S. Main, reported a window of the business was broken. The employee said it does not appear anyone gained entry, but wanted the incident documented.
Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance
Sept. 2
A clerk at a store in the 1-100 block of W. St. Charles said a subject described as a black male entered the store without a shirt. The subject hit the clerk in the arm and ran outside. An officer was unable to locate the subject.
DUI, transportation of open alcohol
Sept. 8
Samuel Agustin Alfaro, 30, of Westchester, was charged with DUI, unlawful use of cannabis by the driver and speeding 21-25 mph over the limit near Maple and Westmore-Meyers at 1:55 a.m.
Sept. 6
Armond Brown, 27, of Chicago, was charged with DUI and possession of cannabis in a vehicle near W. Roosevelt and S. Lincoln at 3:01 a.m.
Sept. 3
Danielle Krafchak, 27, of Bolingbrook, was charged with DUI, transportation of open alcohol and speeding near W. 22nd and S. Main at 12:33 a.m.
Sept. 2
Eugene White III, 50, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis, speeding, transportation of open alcohol and no insurance in the 900 block of E. Roosevelt at 2:56 a.m.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported one incident of fleeing and eluding during which the driver of a motorcycle fled the scene after being stopped for a traffic stop by police.
Harassment, threats
Sept. 8
A complainant in the 1100 block of W. Whitehall advised at 2:22 a.m. she received an e-mail from an unknown subject instructing her to send Bitcoin; otherwise, embarrassing videos would be released to her family and friends.
Sept. 7
A complainant at Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main, advised he was threatened by an unknown male after asking a female not to smoke in the building. An officer checked the area, and no one was located.
Identity theft, fraud
According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported seven incidents of identity theft or fraud between Sept. 2 and Sept. 8.
Road rage
Sept. 6
A caller in the 800 block of W. Foxworth advised at 1:03 a.m. that a Chrysler van brake-checked him and followed him into a parking lot before leaving the area. The caller was advised to contact the Oak Brook Police Department because the incident occurred in Oak Brook.
Suspicious incident
Sept. 8
Complainants in the 200 block of W. North reported at 7:51 p.m. that a subject was drunk and had been verbally abusive to them, then left in a vehicle.
Sept. 7
A complainant near Butterfield and Yorktown Mall Drive advised at 6:49 p.m. of a male subject who was standing in the intersection yelling at cars. The subject was gone upon an officer’s arrival.
Sept. 6
A complainant in the 100 block of S. Lewis advised at 8:44 a.m. that she believed someone was trying to break into her house because her dogs were being aggressive. The area was checked with no results.
A complainant in the 1000 block of S. School advised at 12:41 p.m. that his son was nearly struck by a reckless driver in the area. The complainant wanted to document the incident.
Sept. 5
A complainant in the 100 block of N. Lincoln told police he has a “Harris Obviously” campaign sign on his lawn, but someone threw a note on his lawn that said, “No, Harris will kill us all.” The complainant did not request an extra police patrol.
A caller at Yorktown Cinema, 80 Yorktown, advised at 8:09 p.m. that the driver of a white vehicle was circling the lot and looking at a specific car. The vehicle was gone upon an officer’s arrival.
A caller near S. Westmore-Meyers and E. North Broadway reported at 9:51 p.m. that a black Lincoln, a red SUV, and a silver Jeep have been following her all day.
Sept. 4
A complainant in the 2100 block of S. Finley believes he is being followed by the cartel, and that his girlfriend is trying to lure him to Chicago.
Sept. 3
A caller in the 300 block of S. Westmore-Meyers advised of a female in the bushes with red gym shoes exposed. Contact was made with the woman, who advised she was walking to the train station in Villa Park.
Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery
Sept. 5
A victim in the 500 block of E. Roosevelt told police that cash was stolen from inside his vehicle.
Sept. 4
The owner of a black Nissan Sentra told police the vehicle was stolen from a lot of a car collision repair shop in the 800 block of E. Roosevelt. The owner said the suspect is a Hispanic male who had access to the vehicle’s keys when an employee left the front desk.
Sept. 3
A complainant near S. Main and E. Parkside picked up his property, but said he is missing a credit and debit card.
Retail theft
The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between Sept. 2 and Sept. 8: Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, at 4:16 p.m. Sept. 5; and JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 8:47 p.m. on Sept. 7.
Sept. 6
Brigid Connors, 22, of Lombard, was charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 3:47 p.m.
Vincent Munyon, 32, of Lombard, was charged with retail theft at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 4:26 p.m.
Warrant arrest
Sept. 7
Police reported that Jeffrey Flandro, 32, of Lombard, was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a failure to appear warrant.
Sept. 6
Police said Joshua Kolakowski, 18, of Lombard, was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a failure to appear warrant.
Sept. 5
Police reported that Michael Krause, 39, of Lombard, was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a warrant at 8:59 p.m.
Sept. 4
Christian Chimbo-Matailo, 35, of Westmont, was issued citations for driving while license suspended, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident near S. Route 53 and W. Harrison at 11:42 a.m. Police said Chimbo-Matailo also was served with a failure to appear warrant.
Police said Nick Whelan, 32, of Addison, was arrested on an original warrant for criminal trespass to land.
