Lombard police report—September 5

INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon

Aug. 21

Samuel Wittmer, 24, of Elmhurst, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon near W. St. Charles and N. Addison at 11:53 a.m.

Battery

Aug. 24

Fabian Dawkins, 30, of Carol Stream, was charged with battery in the 1-100 block of S. Park at 10:34 p.m.

Criminal damage, trespassing

Aug. 23

Police said Jean Murray, 66, and Cullen Murray, 28, both of Lombard, were issued trespassing citations after being evicted in the 1100 block of S. Fairfield.

Aug. 22

Yorktown security advised at 10:18 a.m. that a subject described as a black male whom they needed to identify and have trespassed from Orange Theory, 202 Yorktown, ran from them. An officer found the subject, who was unable to identify himself, in a cemetery. The subject was transported to a hospital using the name John Doe.

Aug. 21

A victim in the 500 block of N. Garfield told police at 1:25 p.m. that someone spray painted the word “love” on her fence.

Aug. 19

Steven Messinger, 58, of Darien, was charged with criminal trespassing to land, trespassing to property and disorderly conduct in the 200 block of E. 22nd at 5:46 p.m.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

Aug. 24

A complainant at Madison Meadow advised at 7:06 p.m. that a subject was yelling racial slurs at them. The subject gathered his belongings, returned to his vehicle and drove off.

Aug. 23

A complainant in the 100 block of S. Charlotte advised at 9:37 p.m. that a male was kicking his car and pounding on the windows. An officer met with a subject, who was intoxicated and was not sure how he got there.

Aug. 21

A complainant in the 2100 block of S. Finley advised that her son brought an unknown female into the apartment. The complainant caught both her son and the female in the apartment. The female threw tomato juice on the couch and fled the apartment.

Aug. 20

A victim in the 900 block of S. Charlotte said his brother slapped his face during an argument.

Police said a complainant told a subject to pick up his dog’s feces and the subject threatened to beat him up. The subject denied making a threat and agreed to avoid speaking to the subject.

DUI, transportation of open alcohol

Aug. 25

Juan Velazquez Lopez, 34, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, no valid driver’s license/permit never issued and improper lane usage near North and Lincoln at 2:23 a.m.

Lenin Marini, 58, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and no insurance near S. Main and W. Willow at 9:04 p.m.

Aug. 24

Angel Gonzalez, 50, of Aurora, was charged with DUI, transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver, driving too fast for conditions or failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance in the 2300 block of S. Fountain Square at 11:02 p.m.

Aug. 22

Griselda Yedid Campos, 37 (residence not given) was charged with DUI, open alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding near 16th and Meyers at 12:53 a.m.

Harassment, threats

Aug. 20

A complainant in the 100 block of S. Lodge said at 3:39 a.m. he had a previous relationship with a subject, who was posting personal tweets on X about him. The complainant only wanted this incident documented.

Complainants in the 800 block of S. Addison reported an account on Instagram was being used to bully a juvenile.

Identity theft, fraud, forgery

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported six incidents of identity theft or fraud in which a victim’s identity was fraudulently used either to make charges on a credit card, open a business, bank or credit account, fraudulently deposit checks, alter a check, receive unemployment benefits—or a victim was convinced by a subject to deposit money into an account, send a check, or to buy gift cards.

Road rage

Aug. 19

A victim in the 2200 block of S. Highland advised he was involved in a road rage incident and was battered by a male subject.

Suspicious incident

Aug. 25

A complainant advised that a witness informed her he had received photos of her. The complainant stated she suspects a subject with whom she had a previous relationship.

Aug. 24

Complainants near Park and Michael McGuire Drive advised at 9:51 p.m. of a fight between two subjects. Minor injuries were observed; medics and complaints were refused.

Aug. 22

A complainant in the 100 block of E. Madison advised that a juvenile received inappropriate text messages from an unknown subject.

Several vehicles whose drivers were believed to be drag racing near W. North and N. DuPage at 11:43 p.m. were observed leaving the scene. No speeding or racing was observed.

Aug. 21

A caller near W. Morris and S. Finley advised at 3:45 a.m. of an SUV parked on the road with teens laying in the road. The area was checked with no results.

Aug. 20

A complainant in the 1-100 block of W. Grove reported at 11:58 p.m. hearing around eight gunshots. The area was checked with no results.

Aug. 19

A complainant in the 300 block of W. Roosevelt said her vehicle was stolen from a parking lot. The complainant later found her vehicle parked and not damaged in a different parking spot where she claimed she did not park.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

Aug. 25

A complainant in the 800 block of W. Foxworth reported her storage unit was broken into sometime after July 3. There were no cameras covering the storage area.

Aug. 24

Leonard Lemons, 28, and Tecora Wiley, 26, both of Chicago, were charged with retail theft, criminal damage to property, battery/making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature and resisting or obstructing a police officer at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 8:59 p.m.

A complainant in the 100 block of W. St. Charles advised an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and took his golf clubs sometime between Aug. 21 and the above date.

A complainant in the 200 block of E. 22nd advised that an unknown suspect smashed his front passenger window and took money.

A complainant at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, advised at 2:10 p.m. that an unknown suspect stole her wallet.

Aug. 23

A complainant in the 300 block of W. Arboretum advised after having movers help move some furniture, her wallet went missing. The complainant believes that a subject may have taken it. An officer spoke to the subject, who denied taking the wallet.

Aug. 21

A victim in the 2000 block of S. Finley was contacted by a subject to do a photo shoot. The victim accepted payment by check. The subject requested account information. The victim later discovered a large amount of money was withdrawn from his account.

A complainant in the 2200 block of S. Highland advised at 12:05 a.m. while delivering packages, two unknown suspects entered his UPS truck and took packages. The two male suspects left in a dark blue Chrysler.

Aug. 19

A complainant in the 100 block of S. 2nd reported he lent his red 2006 Chevrolet Silverado to a subject, who never returned it.

A victim in the 100 block of W. Harrison reported multiple missing items. He believes a subject took his property, but the subject denied taking items and stated he had property stolen as well.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25: Target, 60 Yorktown, at 6:31 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 23; Dick’s Sporting Goods, 810 E. Butterfield, at 4:37 p.m. Aug. 24; Target, 60 Yorktown, at 4:59 p.m. Aug. 25.

Aug. 25

Bahar Azarmizad, 48, and Nahideh Mashhadialioghli, 55, both of Berkeley, were charged with felony retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 3:02 p.m. Azarmizad also was charged with resisting a police officer.

Aug. 23

Nicole Buttera (age not given) of Lombard was charged with retail theft at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 10:04 p.m.

Aug. 21

Eric Mendez-Sanchez, 50, of Lombard, was issued a citation for retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 3:27 p.m.

Warrant arrest

Aug. 20

Police said Joseph Burns, 43, of Lombard, was arrested on a warrant for identity theft in the 300 block of S. Edson at 10:18 a.m.
