ROBERT SISLER
Robert (Bob) Sisler, a longtime resident of Lombard, passed away on December 3rd at the age of 84. He was born in Tulsa Oklahoma to the late Dr. Wade and Augusta Sisler. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 6 of his 8 siblings. He is survived by his beloved children Jamie (Oscar), Brian (Terri), his cherished grandchildren Alexander, Zoe, Kody (Emma), adoring nieces, nephews and many loving family members.
Bob attended Oklahoma State University where he received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and was a Sigma Chi member. He worked in his field for McDonnell-Douglas, Zenith, and Eaton corporations. Bob was a Board member of the Lombard men’s club and enjoyed Yoga, Genealogy, long walks with his family and most of all helping others. He will be dearly missed. Services for Bob will be private in Tulsa Oklahoma.
FRANK SCOLA
Frank Scola, 94, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Florence; by his parents Michael and Angelina Scola, and his sisters Nora Scola and Mary Sucato (brother-in-law Ronald Sucato). Frank is survived by his children, Marilyn (Paul) Smiley, Maureen (Sietze) deWaard, Marla Adorno, Michael Scola, Mark Scola; his cherished grandchildren, Tony (Angela) Adorno, Dominic (Lisa) Adorno, Jeni (Anthony) Samaniego, Todd (Angela) Pojman, Drew (Lindsay) deWaard, Corinn (Illya) deTorres; and his great grandchildren, Dakota Samaniego, Logan Samaniego, Isabel Adorno, Joey Adorno, Lucas Pojman, Kenzie Pojman, Joni deTorres, Rio deTorres; and his great-great-grandchild Raelyn Samaniego; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Frank had been a resident of Lombard since 1953 and one of the founding members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Above all, Frank loved his family and enjoyed celebrating family birthdays and holidays. He was a gifted gardener and storyteller. He was also a very detailed house, room addition and deck planner for his family and friends. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or make; he enjoyed a challenge. He will be missed.
Visitation, Thursday, December 8, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (three blocks south of Roosevelt Road). Prayers 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Pius X Catholic Church (1025 E. Madison St., Lombard) for the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
