On Saturday, Oct. 29, children dressed in Halloween costumes, along with their parents, had fun exploring where many influential Lombardians were laid to rest at the Lombard Cemetery—the oldest cemetery in the village (established in 1851)—during the “Haunts and History” program presented by the Lombard Historical Society. Children had fun looking for hidden symbols, doing grave rubbings and enjoying a goody bag to take home. On hand to greet them and hand out those goody bags were, from left to right: Rae Slowik, education and collections coordinator for the Lombard Historical Society, and LHS volunteers Paul Blake (dressed as Count Dracula) and Ella Champagne.
