Willowbrook’s boys soccer team defeated Addison Trail 2-1 in a West Suburban Gold Conference match in Villa Park on Sept. 6. Willowbrook ended a streak of several consecutive losses to the Blazers in the annual battle of District 88 rivals. The Warriors broke a 1-1 tie in the match when senior Aiden Amin scored with about 19 minutes left in the second half. Willowbrook senior goalkeeper Jack Voss is pictured while leaping to make a save late in the match. The victory over Addison Trail allowed the Warriors to take possession of the District 88 Derby trophy. The traveling trophy goes to the winner of each year’s conference meeting between Willowbrook and the Blazers.
