Paul Holum, of Elmhurst, native of Trondheim, Norway, passed away recently at the age of 98. Beloved husband of the late Walborg; loving father of Sidsel (Dan) Kohl, Paul (Caryl) Holum and the late Ivan Holum; proud grandfather of Patrick, Andrew and Brennan Kohl, Wendy Colon, Steven Kohl and Jeremy and Logan Holum; cherished great-grandfather of Ryder, Stella, Riggins, Lily, Fiona, Kaiden, Tristan, Michael and Andrew; dear youngest brother of 11 children. Paul began his work as a plumber in Norway and immigrated to the United States in 1960 where he continued for a total of 68 years in the plumbing industry. An avid cross-country skier, loved watching sports especially soccer, enjoyed playing the mandolin, singing and listening to music. In later years loved to attend the games and concerts of his great grandchildren. His happiest times were spent with his family, talking with people and taking his daily walks through town. A celebration of life is being planned by Paul’s family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice organization of your choice.
