Allison O’Callaghan was named Lombard’s 2022 Lilac Queen during the ceremony in Lilacia Park on Sunday, May 1. O’Callaghan, who is a junior at Glenbard East High School, was one of five Lilac Princesses to take the stage at the beginning of the coronation ceremony. Moments later, she accepted the crown, sash and cape as the 2022 Lilac Queen. The May 1 ceremony, which took place in overcast and chilly conditions, continued a tradition that began 92 years ago. Lombard’s first Lilac Queen was crowned in 1930.
