More than 100 people turned out at the Elmhurst Art Museum on Thursday, April 21 when Mayor Scott Levin and the Elmhurst City Council hosted its annual Commissioner Appreciation Event. The evening was designed to recognize and formally thank all the volunteers throughout the City who sit on various Boards and Commissions.
Part of the festivities involved the presentation of the Darrell Whistler Service Award, given annually to an exceptional commissioner. This year’s award was given to Bill Shanklin, who is currently Chair of the Elmhurst Economic Development Commission.
