Several years ago, this tree was planted near Sandburg Middle School in honor of long-time teacher Trilby Porter (back row, second from right). Spearheaded by her friend Geri Kucera, the Independent has an opportunity to present these photos of Trilby’s tree in honor of her recent passing at the age of 83.
