Therese “Terry” Tarantino passed away peacefully on January 28,2022, at the age of 88. She was born in Chicago to the late John and Anne Waas.
For 34 years she and her husband, the late Salvatore Tarantino, resided in Elmhurst. She was an active member of the Elmhurst Garden Club and involved in her children’s school. Terry was an office administrator for Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company prior to retiring and moving to Roseville, Calif. She enjoyed many joyful years as a resident of Del Webb before returning to the Elmhurst and Lombard area in 2015. Terry had a passion for crocheting teddy bears and would donate them to the children at Roseville Hospital. She received an outstanding award for her work. In her final years, Terry was a resident of Sunrise Senior Living in Lombard where she made many friends, was involved in many activities, and truly considered it her home.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Terry had a smile that would light up the room, a great sense of humor and a kind soul. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Terry is survived by her son, Jim (Diane) Tarantino; daughters, Joann (Brian) Kenny and Carol (Gary) Wiedemann; granddaughters, Rebecca (Chris) Wickman, Kelly (Kyle) Arnold and Jordan Marie Kenny; great grandchildren, Stryder and Owen Wickman, and Beckham and Wells Arnold.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Visitation Catholic Parish, 779 S. York St., Elmhurst. Family and friends may visit in the Church’s Fireside Room from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
