Roy Crane Fisher passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 83. Native of Hammond, Ind., most recently of Elmhurst; graduate of Cathedral High School, Sioux Falls, So. Dak. and St. Mary’s College, Winona, Mn. Roy was a longtime sales associate in the textile industry and was employed by J.C. Penney Co. in La Crosse, Wisc., followed by time in sales with Riegel Textile, Fieldcrest, Cannon Mills, and Pillowtex in the Chicago area. Roy also had a great passion for gardening, genealogy and especially for the game of golf.
Roy was the beloved husband of Lucille, nee Farley; loving father of Michael (Holly) of Coppell, Texas, Thomas (Sheri) of Park City, Utah and Robert of Winona, Mn; cherished grandfather of Jake Eisenhauer, Ben Eisenhauer, Ross Eisenhauer and Katrina Fisher; devoted son of the late Arnold and the late Helen Crane Fisher; dear brother of Ann (John) Aslin and the late Mary Jirschele, Regina (John) O’Gara and William Fisher and brother-in-law of Colette (Joe) Rudis of Cherry Valley, Ill., Tim Jirschele of Venice, Fla.; dear uncle of many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 7, from 3 until 8 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment Private.
