REV. THOMAS J. BOTHEROYD
Reverend Thomas J. Botheroyd, age 74, retired Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard, died peacefully November 29, 2021, surrounded by Little Sisters of the Poor.
Father Tom was the brother of Susan (William) Krewer of Palatine, William (Cathy) of Island Lake, IL, and Patrick of Lombard. He was a fond uncle of six (Rachel, Corey, John, Danielle, Michele, Jack) and great uncle of nine. His beloved dog Maggie B preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, IL. Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, IL.
Father Tom grew up in Chicago and Rolling Meadows and graduated from St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights. His early interest in religion is attributed to his grandmother who regularly took him to Mass at a young age. His formal religious life began as a member of the De La Salle Christian Brothers where he attended college and then taught in their high schools in Chicago and Cincinnati. Later he worked for the airlines and loved traveling, especially with Margie, a co-worker turned lifelong friend.
Always striving to expand his knowledge and understanding, Father Tom continued his formal education. He attained a Master of Education from St. Xavier University in Cincinnati, a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Chicago, and a Master of Divinity from Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
Father retired in June 2021 as Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served since 2007. Prior to that he served at St. Joseph Parish in Manteno, Marmion Abbey in Aurora, St. Joan of Arc Parish in Lisle, and St. Walter Parish in Roselle.

Richard B. “Dick” Peterson, age 86, resident of Lombard, formerly of Schaumburg and Arlington Heights, died Dec. 2, 2021.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.

Elaine Joyce Rybak, née Wieringa, age 85, of Lombard, IL. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Rybak; loving mother of Brian Rybak, Lisa Rybak, and Kristin (Paul) Brose; devoted grandmother of Alison, Payton, and Jacob Brose; dear sister of Ronald (Sharon) Wieringa; cousin, aunt, and friend of many.

ROBERT G. SNIEGOWSKI
Robert G. Sniegowski, age 85, of Hanover Park, formerly of Lombard, died November 21, 2021.
Robert was the loving husband of 59 years of the late Margaret M., nee Abruscato; dear father of Robert A. of La Grange Park and Michael (Maria) of Hanover Park; grandfather of Jose Guzman of Bensenville, Abraham (Lindsey) Guzman of Batavia, and Alanna (Terry Finnegan) Turner of Chicago Ridge; dear brother of Eugene of Aurora; brother-in-law of John (Jo Ann) Abruscato of Wheaton, Richard (Donna) Abruscato of California, Robert (Nancy) Abruscato of Rolling Meadows and Frances (Steve) Vines of Wood Dale; and uncle and relative of many.
Robert had been a member of Sacred Heart Church for over 34 years. He grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Wells High School. He was a retired Customer Service Manager. Robert had been active with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Lombard since 1989.
Robert was a stamp collector and he played pinochle at the Hanover Park Service Center.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard. Interment followed at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
