RAYMOND E. ACTON
Raymond E. Acton passed away peacefully at his home in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. Raymond entered his eternal home surrounded by his beloved children.
A funeral service celebrating Ray’s life in Christ will be held on Saturday, Nov.13, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., with the service beginning at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.

MARION D. HAMPTON
Marion D. Hampton, nee Smith, age 88, of Lombard, died on Nov.3, 2021, at her home.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Faith United Methodist Church, 815 South Finley Road, Lombard. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

LAURENCE W. HARVEY
Laurence W. Harvey, 53, Stoughton, Wisconsin, formerly of Lombard, passed away on October 8, 2021, after a valiant battle with complications from Covid-19. Beloved son of Lawrence and Judy Harvey of Lombard. Cherished grandson, nephew and friend of many. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins that grew up with him in Lombard: Jim Picker, Janelle (Picker) Bailey, Ellen (Picker) Greer, Carol (Picker) Townsend and Bill Harvey.
Laurence, known as “Larry” and “Lars,” was born on February 4, 1968, to Lawrence and Judy Harvey. He attended Saint Alexander grade school, Montini Catholic High School and graduated from Wheaton Christian Academy. He went on to study at the College of DuPage.
Larry was passionate about God and devoted himself to the study of the Bible and Christian service. Larry served as a youth minister at the Wheaton Christian Academy and later at the Word of Truth Christian Fellowship in Chicago until 2005.
Larry spent the remaining years of his life in and around Madison, Wisconsin. He successfully built and operated an auto touch-up paint service, which he named “Paint-Med”.
While in Stoughton he served his community by ministering God’s infinite love to those he met. He taught the Bible and provided Christian counseling at a weekly Christian Fellowship he hosted at his home. He was a friend, mentor, and spiritual leader to many people all across the country.
Larry was an avid golfer and part-time pro golf instructor including Sugar Creek Golf Course. He won an MVP golf award from his stay at Wheaton Academy. He had such a great sense of humor. Many times, he blended humor with his teaching style including both golf and the Bible.
We love you Larry and you will forever be in our hearts.

HELEN RAKOW
Helen Rakow, née Troyke, 86 years, Entered into eternal life Nov. 2, 2021.
Helen was the loving wife of 47 years the late Donald Rakow; beloved mother of Jeffry of North Carolina, Beverly (Charlie Nix) of Lombard. Grandmother to Steven (Amanda), Misty (fiancé Ross), and Heather (fiancé Jeff). She was preceded in death by her husband; parents Albert and Gertrude; brothers and sisters Norman, Elsa, Ann, Albert, Phil, Richard; and grandchildren Matthew and Barry. She is survived by her sister Leila Schlak of Lombard.
She was born May 15, 1935, at home at 145 S. Charlotte, Lombard. The house her father built. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lombard, where she was a lifelong member. She was married on April 23, 1955, to Donald Rakow. She was a strong Christian woman who was active in the Sunday School, Altar Guild, Mary Martha, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Mission Quilter’s, the Choir and Handbells. She was passionate about mission work and showed her love for it on a trip to Romania.
In her life she graduated from Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn and worked as a Bell Telephone operator and as an Administrative assistant at Becker and Associates Manufacturing in Lombard.
Funeral Services were held Monday, November 8, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
