Road rage, juveniles flash gang signs
On Sept. 18, a reporting officer responded to an area near Route 83 and St. Charles at 1:42 p.m. for a road rage incident where four suspects described as Hispanic males allegedly were flashing gang signs. The vehicle was located and three of the occupants were not wearing seatbelts. The occupants reported a white van, unknown driver, was trying to merge into their lane but there was no room and when they passed the van, an unknown object was thrown at their driver’s window. The juvenile suspects were cited for no seatbelts and released to their parents.
Fire extinguisher thrown from parking deck strikes vehicle
On Sept. 17 Police said officers were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Addison for the report of a fire extinguisher that was thrown off the parking deck sometime between the above dates and struck a vehicle
Suspect throws hammer at car in road rage incident
On Sept. 16, victim near York and Butterfield reported at 10:10 a.m. that during a road rage incident, a suspect threw a hammer at his vehicle causing damage. An investigation is pending.
After fight with girlfriend, victim allegedly stabbed by suspect
On Sept. 21, a victim near the Illinois Prairie Path and Mitchell told police that after an argument, he was locked out of his girlfriend’s home in the rain around 3:30 a.m. and was walking on the Prairie Path when another individual demanded his phone and cut him in the chest and wrist with a box cutter. The victim related that the individual then walked away without taking the phone. Superficial cuts were observed on the victim that were not bleeding. Police asked the victim if he had any weapons on him and the victim stated he may have had scissors in his pocket earlier. The victim refused to be interviewed by officers following the incident. The victim’s girlfriend also refused to provide her name or speak with officers. This incident remains under investigation.
