Ryan Flaherty of Lombard was recently promoted by the U.S. Air Force to the rank of staff sergeant. He serves at Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County, California. A 2015 graduate of Willowbrook High School, Flaherty has also received the “Air Force Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service.”
