Like all organizations, Covid-19 impacted the Fr. McDonald Council #1911’s ability to raise funds for those less fortunate in our community. In spite of the recent challenges, Council #1911 has still been able to make meaningful contributions to our community despite the unprecedented challenge of a worldwide pandemic.
During the last two years of COVID-19, more than 400 Knights of Fr. McDonald Council #1911 have focused on:
• raising funds to be distributed to individuals and local charities supporting the less fortunate in our communities.
• Working with Vitalant Blood services to gather urgently needed blood
The efforts of the Brother Knights have been very positive.
• With an investment of more than 9.000 volunteer hours, the Knights of Fr. Columbus Council made in excess of $91,000 charitable donations to local charities supporting the less fortunate in our community.
• During 2019 and 2020 the Knights, working with Vitalant Blood Services, gathered enough blood to reach over 750 persons in need of blood. We have one more blood drive on November 28, 2021 and hope to gather enough blood to reach over 1,000 persons.
Fr McDonald Council #1911’s annual Drive for Intellectually Disabled persons in our community continues through Sunday of this week. Visit elmhurstkofc.org to make a donation on online.
