According to Villa Park police, at around 2:06 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a call of a person with a gun in the 200 block of E. Kenilworth.
Upon arrival, police said officers encountered a person with a gun which led to an officer-involved shooting.
Life-saving measures began immediately at the scene. The person was transferred to a hospital but did not survive their wounds.
The DuPage County M.E.R.I.T. Public Integrity Unit is currently investigating the incident. No other details were available at press time
