Hospital patient with stab wound found with handgun
On Nov. 15, Brandon C. Perry, 28, of Maywood, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on person or in a vehicle at Elmhurst Hospital at around 7:15 a.m. Police said a reporting officer responded to Elmhurst Hospital in reference to a male patient with a stab wound. Upon further investigation, police said it was learned that the incident occurred in Bellwood. A Bellwood police detective responded to Elmhurst Hospital to investigate the incident. According to police, a search of Perry’s vehicle yielded a loaded black Glock 32 .357 handgun laying on the front seat.
Police called when hospital visitor observed with handgun
On Nov. 13, Aaron Hannah, 29, of Broadview, was charged with one count of violation of the Concealed Carry Act at Elmhurst Hospital at around 11:43 a.m. According to the police report, an officer met with hospital security who reported a suspect had entered the hospital with a handgun observed on his right side. The suspect reportedly entered through a door which displayed a placard indicating that guns were not allowed on the premise. Hospital staff confronted the suspect, who subsequently left the premise without incident. Police said Hannah later turned himself in at the police station.
