The Villa Park Community Pride Commission is accepting submissions for its 2020 Halloween Decoration Award contest. Additionally, the commission is holding a scarecrow contest this year. To enter the contests, Villa Park residents can build their own scarecrows or Halloween scenes in their front yard, take a picture and submit the picture for judging. Residents can also help the commission identify the best scarecrow and the spookiest Halloween scene in Villa Park by submitting nominations of homes throughout the village. Submissions can be made on the village’s Facebook page at facebook.com/VillaParkPride, or by email at [email protected]. Remember to provide the address of your favorite scarecrows and decorations. All entries must be submitted by Oct. 26. Judging will take place during the pride commission’s meeting on Oct. 27. Winners will be announced at the Villa Park Village Board meeting on Nov. 7.
