Three women who have served as executive directors of the Lombard Historical Society reunited Tuesday, Aug. 18, to celebrate a new historical marker at 23 W. Maple St. commemorating the suffrage work of Lombard’s own Ellen Martin, the first woman to vote in Illinois. From left to right are Jeanne Schultz Angel; Sarah Richardt; and current executive director, Alison Costanzo. Both Richardt and Costanzo had worked at the historical society prior to becoming executive director. Richardt, who traveled from her home in Ohio for the event, also received a proclamation from the state of Illinois for her efforts to uncover the many facets of Lombard history over the years.
