As part of its Operation Helping Heroes Program, COUNTRY Financial presented a $2,500 donation to Villa Park Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2801 last week. Two representatives from COUNTRY Financial—Tyler Nelson (left) and Frank DiStefano (right)—are pictured holding the presentation check while standing with members of the post. The donation will help to keep the post running. The Villa Park VFW post, located at 39 E. St. Charles Road, has been unable to hold its Tuesday bingo and Friday fish fry events since March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The post has also been prohibited from holding banquets during the pandemic. Unable to hold its major revenue-generating events, the VFW post is accepting donations from the public. COUNTRY Financial will donate more than $3 million in 2020 to organizations that support first responders and the military. The donations support the company’s vision to enrich lives in the communities it serves. COUNTRY Financial’s headquarters are in Bloomington. Nelson and DiStefano are based in the company’s Carol Stream office.
