Montini Catholic High School’s Class of 2020 was originally scheduled to celebrate its commencement on May 17. That ceremony was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s graduates finally had a chance to cross the stage in their caps and gowns during a drive-through event in the school’s parking lot on July 17.. Graduates made an appointment to take the stage sometime between about 2:30 p.m. and approximately 7:30 p.m. Each graduate walked onto a temporary stage as his or her name was announced. Family members were able to stand under a tent to watch graduates take the stage. Each graduate posed for pictures with Montini Principal Kevin Beirne. After graduates walked across the stage, Montini President Jim Segredo directed them to move their tassels from the right side of their caps to the left. This year’s graduating class at Montini features about 150 students. The members of the school’s Class of 2020 include Lombard resident Julianne Billote (left), who is pictured on the stage with Principal Beirne (right). While at Montini, Billote was recognized as an Illinois State Scholar and an Academic All-Star. She will attend Lewis University, where she will study nursing. Before going to Montini, Billote attended St. Pius X School.
