Shirley L. Henricksen, of Elmhurst, formerly of Sun City West, Ariz., passed away peacefully June 29, 2020 at the age of 97.
Shirley was the founder of Henricksen Office Furniture Company in 1962 and was considered a woman pioneer in the man dominated office furniture industry. She was well respected and was also an officer in the Soroptimist Organization in Des Plaines. Shirley was a “no nonsense woman” with a tender heart, especially when it came to her family. She enjoyed her last seven years at Park Place Christian Community, a place where she met new friends and enjoyed all the amenities they offered.
Beloved wife of the late Lawrence M. Henricksen (deceased 2016) for more than 74 years; loving mother of Raymond L. (Donna) Henricksen and Lois J. (Stephen) McPartlin; cherished grandmother of S. Scott (Andrea), Christopher L. (Anne), Ryan J. (Danielle), Sarah (Bobby) Majka, Erik M. (Christine) Henricksen and Tait (Kristi) Henricksen; loving great-grandmother of Kendall, Hadley, and Ava McPartlin, Dean, Rowan and Renn McPartlin, Wyatt and Dylan McPartlin, Evelyn, Caellum and Liam Majka, Benjamin and Nicholas Henricksen, and Royce Henricksen; devoted sister of Helen R. (Robert) Newberg.
Private funeral services were held. Interment Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst.
