GENE L. ANDERSON
Gene L. Anderson, age 92, of Lombard died May 19 at Elmhurst Hospital.
Mr. Anderson was the beloved husband of the late Louise, nee Williams; dearest father of Kathy (Chuck) Synowiec of Wheaton, Karen (Ron) Swanson of Wheaton and Dale (Karen) Anderson of Aurora; fond grandfather of Lonnie Jr. (Mandy) Smith of Lombard, Liz (Greg) Hurlbutt of Gurnee, Nathan (Ariana) Smith of Montgomery, Megan Swanson of California, Carl Swanson of Villa Park, Scott Swanson of Wheaton, Nicholas Anderson of Aurora and Eric Anderson of Aurora; great-grandfather of seven; fond uncle of Patricia LaVay of California and the late Susan Bellows; and many other relatives.
Gene was a Veteran who served in the Army in WWII and the Korean War. He was a life-long member of the VFW Lilac Post #5815.
Gene had been a Lombard resident since 1959 and had lived at Lexington in Lombard for the past 8 years. He was active at First United Methodist Church, where he had formerly served as an Usher. Gene was a proud graduate of Northwestern where he attended night school for 23 years, from 1948-1979. He retired from Quaker Oats in the early 1990s.
Gene was a Master Gardener in DuPage County. He was a former Coach for the Lombard Youth Baseball and was part of the Glen Ellyn YMCA Princesses. He was a woodworker. Gene loved his grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. He made them all toy chests.
Gene was very involved in Swedish-American genealogy.
Private Family Services were held Friday, May 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Private interment followed at Wheaton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to avoid the COVID-19 crisis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Methodist Church would be appreciated.

Dorothy M. Beresniewicz nee Biesterfeldt, age 78, of Lombard, passed away May 19, 2020.
Family Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 23, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Frank; loving mother of Debbie Littrell of Lombard, Renee (Steve) Kramp of Aurora, Sharon (Chris) Bauman of Lombard and the late Mark; cherished grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of seven; preceded by two brothers and three sisters. Fond aunt of many and many other relatives.
Dorothy was a resident of Lombard for 43 years. She was a homemaker.

Barbara R. Novak, nee Struck, age 78, of Glen Ellyn, died May 20 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
