Six incidents of entering unlocked vehicles
On May 19, the Elmhurst Police Department reported six incidents of suspects entering unlocked vehicles were reported in the 500, 600 and 700 blocks of Bryan between 2:27 and. 2:30 a.m.
In the first incident, an officer observed the glove compartment was open and the contents were strewn about the front passenger seat. In the second incident, an officer found the driver’s side door of one of the victim’s vehicles ajar and the glove box and center console open.
The second vehicle also was found to have an open console and glove box.
In the third incident, an officer observed the glove compartment was open and the contents were strewn about the front passenger seat. Nothing of value was taken.
In the fourth incident, an officer spoke with the owner of a vehicle, who stated that nothing was missing from the vehicle. In the fifth incident, an officer observed a vehicle with its door ajar. The glove box had been open and its contents were strewn around the vehicle, but nothing was missing inside.
In the fifth incident, another victim in the 500 block of Bryan told police at around 9 a.m. that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked overnight in his driveway. The suspect disturbed the contents of the vehicle, but nothing was reported stolen.
On report of damaged goal post, police find bed midfield
On May 16, a reporting officer responded to York High School for the report of a damaged goal post. The officer observed the goal post on the north side of the field, along with empty beer cans and a white, twin-size mattress in the middle of the field. School officials were notified.
