As of 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, there were 2,625 total cases among DuPage County residents, including 135 deaths. Of those, 509 were outbreak-associated, while 2,116 were not. Since Sunday, there were 178 new cases and four deaths reported.
(Outbreak-associated cases are linked to a congregate setting, e.g., long-term care facilities, workplaces, schools, or large gathering, e.g., convention, concert.)
Regarding the 509 outbreak-associated cases (including 97 deaths) among DuPage County residents:
• 45 cases (including 11 deaths) are attributed to the Willowbrook long-term care facility (LTCF),
• 406 cases (including 84 deaths) are attributed to 42 additional LTCFs, and
• 58 cases are attributed to 23 outbreaks in other congregate settings and large gatherings.
DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) announces four additional deaths of persons with COVID-19 infection reported since Sunday:
• Female resident of a Hinsdale long-term care facility in her 70s with underlying conditions;
• Female resident of a Bartlett long-term care facility in her 80s with underlying conditions;
• Male resident of DuPage County in his 70s with underlying conditions who had been living in the community; and,
• Male resident of DuPage County in his 60s with underlying conditions who had been living in the community.
