The City launches #ElmhurstStaysHome initiative

By Dee Longfellow

For The Elmhurst Independent

The City of Elmhurst is asking residents to embrace the fact that today, loving our community looks like #ElmhurstStaysHome. Since everyone has been all cooped up at home, knowing that is the safest thing for ourselves, our loved ones and our community and that this commitment will protect the residents of Elmhurst and help save lives.

Now, the City of Elmhurst, Elmhurst Park District, Elmhurst School District 205, Elmhurst Public Library, and Elmhurst College are challenging you to lift up our community’s spirits while we all adjust to this new normal.

All residents of all ages are invited to get creative! Send in your pictures and videos about how you and your family is staying positive and having fun through the “Stay-At-Home” order.

The City will collect this content through the month of April, and feature it on its website and social pages. Some of the submissions may also make a debut in the next City of Elmhurst Front Porch Newsletter. Others may appear in future editions of the Elmhurst Independent.

All you have to do is fill out a form you can find at the elmhurst.org/forms.

Thank you for your commitment to loving our community.

Capturing Elmhurst businesses at work

In conjunction with the Elmhurst History Museum, the economic development team is archiving “Elmhurst Businesses at Work” during these unprecedented times. Capturing how businesses are adapting and operating in the new normal. To participate local business owners/operators may submit photos, and any additional information they wish to share on current operations, to Business Development Coordinator Erin Jason [email protected]  . Photos should show their employees at work – from at home video conference sessions to essential employees manufacturing goods, filling distribution orders, shelving groceries, delivering food and everything in between.
