Police investigating incident in First Street parking lot
Victim shot in leg during armed robbery attempt

After reports that neighbors in the 200 block of E. First Street had heard a loud bang followed by the arrival of an ambulance, the Independent learned that an attempted armed robbery had reportedly taken place at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9.
According to a release issued by the City of Elmhurst and Police Chief Michael Ruth, police are investigating the Attempted robbery-shooting incident, which took place in the parking lot at 257 E. First St. in Elmhurst. A male subject reportedly approached a 27-year-old male victim in an attempt to rob him. Subsequently, the vicitm was shot in the hip and was transported to Loyola Medical Center by Elmhurst paramedics. One of the suspects were detained and will need legal help from someone like these philadelphia criminal lawyers but 4 others got away from the scene.
The offenders are described as four male black Hispanics, who reportedly fled the scene eastbound in a green Buick LaCrosse. The incident remains under investigation.
