Donald E. Young, a 55-year resident of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019, in his home at the age of 87. Beloved husband for 56 years of Peggy Young, nee Lough. Loving father of Tim Young (Mary), Don Young Jr. (Patricia), and Cathy Moran (Chris). Proud grandfather of Kevin, Lauren, Jane, Brigid, Kate, Jack, Grace, Danny, and Nora. Preceded in death by his son Michael Patrick, as well as brothers Patrick and Jack Young.
Don attended Quigley Seminary for five years and was a graduate of Loyola University with a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. for eighteen years before becoming a real estate broker for RE/MAX in Elmhurst.
Don was a devoted and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, enjoying time spent with his family. Above all, he was committed to being an instrumental part of their lives. He loved the church and was a man of strong faith.
