Make room on your schedule for Lombard’s community-wide holiday event, the 14th annual Jingle Bell Jubilee, which this Saturday, Dec. 7. Jingle Bell Jubilee features a plethora of holiday-related activities for the entire family in downtown Lombard, at Lilacia Park, at Lombard Bible Church (where the Glenbard East Honors Strings will be performing two short concerts at 6 and 7 p.m.), at the Helen Plum Library, the Maple Street Chapel (a sing-along from 6:30-8 p.m.) and Calvary Episcopal Church (the annual Cookie Walk from 6-8 p.m.) and the Lombard Historical Society (candlelight tours at the Victorian cottage from 6-8 p.m.). From 4:45-7 p.m., downtown Lombard businesses and the Lombard Town Centre will celebrate the holiday with decorated windows, games, treats and fun. There will be plenty going on at Lilacia Park from 5:30-8 p.m., with the Christmas tree lighting and Santa’s arrival, photo ops with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot cocoa and cookies. The countdown to the lighting of the park starts at 5:30 p.m. sharp. At the Helen Plum Library, the Glenbard East Madrigal Singers will have shows at 6:10, 6:50 and 7:30 p.m. Activities in Youth Services begin at 5 p.m., refreshments will be available in Adult Services and the library will be open to check out materials. This year’s Jingle Bell Jubilee is being sponsored by Waste Management and The Nolan Agency, Inc.
