The Villa Park Public Library held a grand re-opening ceremony on Oct. 19 to mark the completion of the recent addition and renovation project. In April of 2017, voters approved a $10.6 million bond referendum to expand and renovate the library, which is located at 305 S. Ardmore Ave. The dedication of the library at its current site took place 50 years to the date prior to Saturday’s ceremony. Library board members joined Villa Park Village Board members, library staff members and several residents at Saturday’s ceremony, which featured a ribbon-cutting. Library director Sandra Hill (front row, middle) is holding the large scissors in the photo of the ribbon cutting. On Hill’s right, holding the ribbon is Pat Hubbard, the president of the Villa Park Library Board. Villa Park Village President Albert Bulthuis is standing to Hill’s left.
