I noticed online that Tom Cullerton is supposed to hold a job fair later this month. Will that fair include any types of jobs similar to the one Cullerton allegedly had with the Teamsters…jobs where you can make a good salary with benefits by performing little or no work?
Reading the recent letter from the former library board member I was puzzled. He blames the park district; how wrong. The park district does not want the library land. The library wants 5 acres from the park district, even though they told voters they could build where they are on 1.19 acres. The residents didn’t vote on a location or building, they voted for a tax increase. The park board could not comment on a pending referendum; they would be accused of influencing the election. Of course any study done by the library would favor the library. More smoke and mirrors. He said parking was sufficient. They have no parking! You have to park on the street. The silent majority he wants to speak up also caused this problem, along with the library board, by not doing their homework before having voters approve a permanent tax increase.
Under Trump’s new expedited removal rule (the wonder of executive orders), an ICE agent can stop anyone in the U.S.—citizen or not —without even probable cause and demand that they prove they are citizens. If they cannot, they can be deported (to where, I don’t know) without a hearing. Now, I would like to think that this will also be declared unconstitutional but who knows, Moscow Mitch has been stacking the federal courts.
Lombard calling. Beto O’Rourke is a buffoon. I can’t stand looking at him or listening to him on the news. I notice that whenever he gives speeches, his arms are flailing around all over the place. It makes him look like one of those inflatable balloons you see outside of a car dealership. Beto routinely uses profanity in interviews and on the campaign trail, including f-bombs, but I guess that’s OK because he’s a leftist who hates Donald Trump. But if Trump uses profanity, the media is all over him. Hey Beto, nice poll numbers. Do everyone a favor and please drop out of the race.
According to Gary Brenniman “The park district is not willing to give up enough land for adequate parking.” First, does Gary know that the current library doesn’t have enough safe parking to begin with? Second, the acres offered by the park district would provide for 156 parking spaces required by village code. Call and the village will confirm that. If the mentality of the rest of the library board is to throw misstatements, lies and bad information out there, and expect others to believe it, then we need a new library board.
If these allegations against Tom Cullerton are proved true, it should be an affront to everyone who has ever voted for him. He will have proven from his first Senate election he was only in it for himself. Thank God things aren’t more transparent. Right, Tom?
