Hello. I read so much political negativity in Speak Out. It saddens me that both sides just side with their party instead of having an intelligent conversation about the issues. We can disagree without demonizing the other side. Try and be respectful to those who disagree with you. They may respond in kind and you both may discover another perspective. Thank you.
After these terrible mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, leave it to the Democrats to politicize them. Mayor Pete from South Bend is supposedly one of the Democratic Party’s most articulate and rising stars, but he’s just like every other Democratic presidential candidate who thinks everything is rooted in racism. I’m reading that he thinks the U.S. is under attack by white nationalists carrying out mass shootings. That’s brilliant. Let me guess—he probably thinks white nationalists are responsible for all the mass shootings and killings every weekend in Chicago. His poll numbers are in the single digits, and in a CNN poll I saw, he’s receiving zero percent support among African Americans. I suppose that white nationalists are to blame for his poll numbers, too. Go back to South Bend.
So initially the library board told everyone they didn’t need any parking at their current 1.2-acre Lilacia Park location, then they tried to get five acres from the park district because they needed almost 200 spaces; now they are reportedly having discussions with Mr. Z’s for their two acres and now only need 90 or 100 spaces. What are they doing? Hire a new director and get some leadership in there as the library board is obviously confused.
If hate crimes are such a problem in America, why do leftists feel the need to reportedly commit so many hate crime hoaxes?
There were a couple of extremely cold days in our area in January. There were a couple of extremely hot days in July. What a surprise. Cold weather in the winter and hot weather in the summer. We’ve had some really nice summer weather since the recent heat wave.
What a lovely special board meeting last Thursday night and thanks to everyone who put it together. However—but I cannot be sure—I didn’t see anyone in attendance representing the Helen Plum Library. If that is true, it’s a shame, especially since the Maple Street Chapel also represents the first “reading room” in Lombard, as I understand it. And Col. Plum, who named the library after his wife, was on the first village board. If I am wrong, I apologize.
I’m tired of not being able to give my opinions out in the open out of fear for my safety. I’m tired of having to state my opinion in the anonymous section of the paper. Is this America? Thank you.
