A crowd of people lined the area’s Union Pacific Railroad tracks on Friday afternoon to see Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014. The steam locomotive is pictured as it passes Addison Road in Villa Park. Big Boy No. 4014 was delivered to Union Pacific in 1941. It was retired about 20 years later. Union Pacific restored No. 4014, which is touring the railroad’s system this year to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad. Big Boy No. 4014 left Wisconsin on Friday morning and stopped in West Chicago on Friday afternoon. Thousands of visitors flocked to West Chicago over the weekend to see the locomotive, which departed for Iowa earlier this week.
