Police Reports

Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

 

Addison

 

July 26

A 40-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 400 block of Green Oaks Court at around 1:54 a.m.

 

July 22

Lamonte A. Taylor-Gwin, 28, of Chicago, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, no valid driver’s license, disobeyed traffic control device, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and possession of a controlled substance subsequent to investigating a traffic accident in the 1000 block of N. Rohlwing at around 3:51 a.m.

July 21

Larry D. York, 42, of Addison, was charged with theft in the 600 block of Army Trail at around 11:26 p.m. Police said York took a victim’s cell phone.

 

Villa Park

 

July 20

Jessica M. Reyes, 27, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance near Park and Monterey at around 2 a.m.

 

July 19

Theft was reported at a store between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect distracted a customer and stole a wallet from the customer’s purse while it was unsecured in the cart.

Retail theft was reported at a store in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt at around 3:45 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole five packs of cigarettes.

 

July 17

Brian B. Duren, 36, of Chicago, was charged with theft and forgery at a local car dealership. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 17.

 

July 14

A 30-year-old Chicago man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 400 block of W. Division at around 3:52 a.m.

 

July 13

Burglary to a vehicle was reported at an auto body shop on St. Charles Road at around 12:40 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect entered a vehicle parked in the lot and stole the radio and rummaged through the vehicle’s contents. It is unknown if anything else was missing.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported at an entertainment center on Villa Avenue between 12 noon and 3 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect forced entry to a vehicle parked in the lot and stole a bag containing camera equipment.

Criminal trespass to a vehicle was reported at an auto body shop on St. Charles Road at around 12:33 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect rummaged through an unsecured vehicle parked in the lot. Nothing appeared to be missing.
