Antonietta Forty, 93

Antonietta Forty, of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late John Forty. Loving mother of David Forty, Richard Forty, Diane (Keith Anelli) Murray and Susan (Robert Battles) Forty. Dearest grandmother of Teresa (Adam) Carver and Alicia Rhodes-Condon. Jon Van Ewyk, 53

Jon Andrew Van Ewyk, formerly of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 53. Beloved son of James and the late Janice Van Ewyk; loving brother of Jeff and Julie (Ryan) Pardoski. Dear uncle of Jordin and Jared Pardoski, cousin of Deanna and Dale McFarland, Pat, Tim and Carey Gleason, nephew of Pat and Deanna Gleason. James R. Reid Sr., 92

James R. Reid Sr., of Willowbrook, formerly a long-time resident of Elmhurst, passed away on May 9, 2016. Jim served in World War II in the 90th Infantry Division of General George Patton’s Third Army and saw action in all five major battles of Europe. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. In 2015 he was awarded the French Legion of Honor Medal.

After the war, Jim and wife Natalie settled in Elmhurst where he became involved in many Boy Scout activities, serving as a Boy Scout Leader as well as an Explorer Post Leader. In his later years, Jim remained directly involved with the 90th Division Association of WWII Veterans, serving as Secretary/Treasurer.

He is survived by his wife Rhoda, son James Robert (Nancy) Reid Jr., granddaughter Amanda Reid, as well as several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Natalie R. Reid, his niece Natalie Wheeler and his sister, Audrey (Richard) Waterhouse.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, from 9 to 11 a.m. at College Church in Wheaton, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Natalie R. Reid/Wheeler Scholarship Fund at the University of Missouri/Columbia, or the 90th Division Association at 90thdivisionassociation.org

Internment will be held at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
