Over a dozen original paintings by Sheldon Peck are now on display in the Lombard Historical Society “Sheldon Peck, Footsteps of His Life” special exhibit. The paintings by the noted abolitionist and artist are now being shown at the Sheldon Peck Homestead, his former home on the southwest corner of Parkside Ave. and Grace Street. Exhibit docents Joyce Miller (left) and Amelia Deering are pictured at the exhibit Saturday with Peck’s circa 1846-1847 oil on canvas painting of the John J. Wagner family. Special hours for the exhibit, which runs through Aug. 31. are Tuesdays, 1-4 p.m.; Thursdays, 1-8 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit will be closed July 4.
