Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
May 16
Teylon L. Peoples, 19, of Addison, was charged with DUI, no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no insurance in the 300 block of W Dale Drive at around 1:22 a.m.
May 14
Police said Christopher M. Kazmierczak, 24, of Addison, was processed for a failure to appear warrant out of the Elmhurst Police Department for driving while under the influence at around 7:55 p.m.
May 12
A 31-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of S. Hale at around 10:15 a.m. Police said the suspect struck a victim on the mouth with his head.
May 11
Police said officers responded to the Itasca Police Department at around 9:29 p.m. and transferred a 45-year-old man from Milwaukee, Wis., to the Addison Police Department where he was processed for an original warrant for domestic battery and interference with the reporting of domestic violence. Police said the suspect kicked the victim multiple times, pulled the victim’s hair, and struck the victim’s face with a cellphone.
May 10
Jose Mendez, 45, of Harwood Heights, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal subsequent to a traffic stop near Fullerton and Stewart at around 10:39 a.m.
May 9
Gabriel A. Marrero, 33, of Elmwood Park, was charged with aggravated assault in the 2100 block of Corporate Drive at around 8:25 a.m. Police said Marrero threatened a victim with a gun.
May 5
Misael Ortega, 19, of Bensenville, was charged with obstructing a police officer in the 1-100 block of Elizabeth at around 9:45 p.m. Police said that when approached by officers, Ortega fled the area on foot.
Villa Park
May 11
Cornell R. Carroll, 35, of Villa Park, was charged with violation of an order of protection in the 400 block of N. Beverly at around 3:57 a.m.
May 10
Tamara A. Cross, 35, of Lombard, was charged with two counts of aggravated DUI, driving while license revoked and driving without headlights in the 300 block of S. Ardmore at around 12:48 a.m.
Christina I. O’Sullivan, 31, of Villa Park, was charged with two counts of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage in the 300 block of S. Ardmore at around 11:02 p.m.
Miguel Tomas Pulido, 34, of Glendale Heights, was charged with two counts of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign near Addison and Elm at around 4:20 p.m.
Theft was reported at Willowbrook High School at around 4:30 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole an iPhone that was inadvertently left in a bathroom.
Criminal damage to property was reported at Jefferson Middle School. Police said an unknown suspect scratched the rear driver’s side door to the rear quarter panel of a vehicle parked in the lot sometime between 6 and 8:15 p.m.
May 9
Eric J. McCarthy, 26, of Villa Park, was charged with battery on Nov. 12, 2017. The warrant was issued on April 26 and the arrest was on May 9.
May 8
Retail theft was reported at a local store at around 6:09 p.m. Police said unknown suspects removed items offered for sale and left the store with the items without paying.

A vehicle was reported stolen at a gas station at around 12:51 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect stole a vehicle that was left parked, unsecured and running at the pumps while the owner/driver went in the gas station.
Burglary of vehicle parts was reported at a local hardware store. Police said an unknown suspect removed several auto parts from a BMW while the vehicle was parked in the business lot sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m.
May 6
Diane E. Carlson, 54, of Villa Park, was charged with theft on April 2. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on May 6.
Andrew V. Smith, 58, of Evanston, was charged with harassment through an electronic device on April 11. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on May 6.
