J. Dale Westcoat, 81
J. Dale Westcoat, a 44-year resident of Elmhurst, passed away at home on April 25, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 81. Dale was born December 2, 1935 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the late 1950s. After that, Dale earned an undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Northwestern University and an MBA from Rosary College. Dale enjoyed a career in health care information systems and for many years was the Director of Information Systems at Westlake Community Hospital. He will be remembered with much love by his wife of 55 years Carol Jo (Gifford); daughters Lynn (Tony Bell) McHenry, and Amy (Erv) Ervin; and grandchildren Jessica Lynn McHenry and Joshua Dylan McHenry. Dale is also survived by two brothers Norman (Mary Hodgins) of Florida and Gary (Brenda) Westcoat of Pennsylvania, as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Joseph C. Westcoat and Dorothy Jeanette Malm. Everyone whose life Dale touched celebrate his life with love. The Memorial will be private.
