Celebrating Lombard’s past

In celebration of Lombard’s 150th anniversary, the Lombard Historical Society Carriage House exhibit, Building Lombard: Celebrating 150 years, is now on display. The exhibit, which runs through Aug. 31, features artifacts, maps and photographs of people and places from Lombard’s past. Also featured is an 1869 Lombard business district diorama designed and created by Margo Fruehe, noted Lombard historian and author. Pictured with the diorama are Lombard Historical Society staff members (left to right) Sarah Richardt, executive director; Jean Crockett, archivist; and Colette Freeman, program coordinator. Admission is free ($5 suggested donation). The exhibit hours are 1-4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
