At 7 p.m., the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra presents ‘Classical Delights’ at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Rd. The church has accessible parking and facilities; parking is free. Dr. Ted Hatmaker will host a ‘Behind the Music Stand’ discussion at 5:45 p.m. just before the concert. At 1:30 p.m., there will be an artists’ talk at the Elmhurst Art Museum by Assaf Evron and Claudia Weber reflect on their artistic intent and interests in Mies van der Rohe’s legacy, the Bauhaus, and features of the McCormick House—the site of their site-specific installations.

At 1 p.m., there will a screening of the documentary Paris to Pittsburgh in Illinois Hall inside the Schaible Science Center on the campus of Elmhurst College. It is part of the One Earth Film Festival, presented by the Elmhurst Cool Cities Coalition and Elmhurst College. Other films take place at other campuses from Mar 1-10. At 7 p.m., the Crestview Garden Club will meeting at Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 W. Butterfield Road. The featured speaker will be Trish Beckjord, a registered landscape architect who will present “Just How Far Have We Moved the Needle? (And Other Thoughts On Creating Attractive Gardens Using Native Plants).” Her work focuses on conservation, restoration and integration of native plants in designed landscapes. Info: 630-408-7900.

- From 7 – 8:30 p.m., Elmhurst College welcomes Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin who will present “Team of Rivals: Leadership Lessons from Abraham Lincoln” as this year’s Rudolf G. - From 7-8 p.m., the Elmhurst Library joins the Elmhurst History Museum to present Elizabeth Barrett Browning: The Story of the Sonnets. Three years after their elopement and marriage, Elizabeth and Robert Browning welcomed the birth of their son Pen and mourned the death of Robert’s mother. Struggling to raise her beloved husband’s spirits and to prove that love doesn’t die, Elizabeth (portrayed by professional actress Debra Miller) considers revealing to Robert the romantic sonnets she wrote inspired by letters from their 18-month courtship. - From 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 1909 Spring Rd. in Oak Brook, Edward-Elmhurst Health will host a Healthy Driven Wellness Forum, “Unstoppable You.” Samantha Harris, former co-host of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and Entertainment Tonight and a cancer survivor, will be the keynote speaker. - At 1:30 p.m., teens are invited to Elmhurst Art Museum to be introduced to a variety of methods to fabricate their creative designs in advance of the Bauhaus Teen Design Competition, which will take place on April 13. Just as Bauhaus students were encouraged to use the materials and technologies of their day, design professionals will teach skills and provide advice on how to construct their projects. Teens interested in all media are encouraged to attend. Free, no registration required. Sponsored by the OPUS Foundation.

From 3-6 p.m., the Elmhurst Commission on Youth is hosting a Teen Job/Volunteer Fair in the Commons of York High School, 355 St. Charles Rd. to connect qualified indi-viduals with Elmhurst area establishments seeking em-ployees and volunteers. Rep-resentatives from local busi-nesses and organizations are invited to participate free of charge. Vendors are invited to arrive at 2:30 p.m., the doors will open to the public at 3 p.m. and will remain until 6 p.m. To register, visit elmhurstpublicli-brary.org/teen-job-fair-registration.

- Widows or Widowers (WOW) meet every third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 537 S. York Road. WOW lends support and provides social activities for those who have lost a spouse. - The Elmhurst American Legion, T.H.B. Post No. 187, hosts a fish fry every Friday night from 6-8:30 p.m. New York steaks are available first Friday of the month. Musical entertainment follows.
