The IC Catholic Prep boys basketball team competed in its own IC Catholic Prep-Westmont tournament. The Knights opened play with a 66-63 loss to Elmwood Park.
IC Catholic Prep then lost 49-48 to Chicago Perspectives IIT/Joslin in the second game and then won a 53-46 decision against Chicago Legal Prep.
The Knights closed out the tournament with a 76-66 loss to Chicago Perspectives Charter/Leadership.
In the 49-48 loss to Perspectives IIT/Joslin, the Knights led 15-14 after the first quarter and 23-20 at halftime. The Knights carried a 41-36 lead into the fourth quarter, but Perspectives outscored them 13-7 in the final stanza.
Chauncey Lee led the Knights with 15 points. Mike Carpanzano added 12 points, while Zach Jordan had 10 points. Dom Gaudio hit two 3-pointers to finish with six points. Carpanzano also finished with two 3-pointers. Jordan hit the team’s other 3.
