The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Assault, battery
Dec. 25
Tyreale L. McMiller, 43, of Chicago, was charged with resisting arrest and assault in the 600 block of W. North at 11:02 p.m. Subsequent to a verbal domestic, McMiller was observed to allegedly assault a family member.
Criminal damage

Ahmed U. Mohammed, 39, of Naperville, was issued a citation for damage to a person’s property and issued a trespass notice in the 400 block of W. Monroe at 10:29 p.m. Police said Mohammed was found to have parked on the victim’s property and had gotten stuck in the mud.
Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct, disturbance

A reporting officer in the 100 block of E. First observed a vehicle reported stolen out of Homewood. David A. Collins, 21, and Angel L. Smith, 21, both of Lansing, were found attempting to sell the vehicle off Facebook Marketplace, according to police. Collins and Smith were charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. Associates of Collins and Smith arrived at the police station and were found to be allegedly in possession of cannabis inside a motor vehicle. Jasmine N. Johnson, 20, and David J. Hogan Stubbs, 19, both of Lansing, were issued citations for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle.
Hannah M. Meinert, 39, of New Lenox, was issued a citation for trespass to property at a gas station in the 200 block of E. Butterfield. A complainant reported the suspect was causing a disturbance and wanted her served with a no trespass notice from the property. The suspect was issued a trespass notice.

A 28-year-old Elmhurst man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 500 block of W. St. Charles. Officers responded to a report of a domestic. The suspect grabbed the victim by the neck and choked her.
Dec. 24
A 45-year-old Elmhurst man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 500 block of N. Willow. A victim reported the suspect pushed him after the two were involved in a verbal argument.
Dec. 23
A complainant in the 600 block of S. York reported at 10:25 p.m. that a suspect battered her after a verbal altercation. Officers found that both parties had conflicting stores and no visual signs of injury. Both parties were separated for the evening.
Dec. 19
Nawras Fawwa Taleeb, 30, of Tinley Park, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct-befouling property in the 200 block of N. York at 8:10 a.m. Police said Taleeb exited his vehicle and urinated on the bushes in the City Hall parking lot.

Damari L. Dawson, 20, of Chicago, was charged with DUI-drug and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver near Ridgeland and North at 2:48 a.m.

Sandra Dudic, 50, of Elmhurst, was charged with DUI, child endangerment and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver in the 100 block of N. Caroline at 7:46 p.m.
Dec. 23
Sarah P. Warren, 22, of Elmhurst, was issued a citation for possession of alcohol on public property in the 900 block of S. York.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incidents of fleeing and eluding during which a driver fled the scene after being stopped for a traffic stop by police.

A complainant in the 300 block of Commonwealth reported leaving his Louis Vuitton wallet on the tennis court at Eldridge Park. When he returned to the tennis court, his wallet was missing.

A complainant in the 500 block of W. Grand reported leaving his backpack containing his MacBook Air, cell phone and books behind a dumpster. Upon his return, the backpack was missing.

Gabriel Amaro-Mares, 40, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of retail theft at a liquor store in the 100 block of E. Fullerton at 2:53 a.m. A complainant reported the suspect returned to the business after he allegedly stole alcohol on Dec. 24.
Dec. 24
Subsequent to a burglar alarm at 3:58 a.m., a restaurant and a coffee shop in the 600 block of W. North were found to have glass breaks. Four cash registers with no money were removed from the coffee shop, and the restaurant had a safe taken.
Dec. 16
Subsequent to a theft by deception report in the 500 block of W. Babcock, the victim sent money to an unknown suspect claiming to be from Chase Banks Fraud Department. An investigation is pending.
Warrant arrest

Subsequent to a traffic stop near North and Myrtle at 2:31 a.m., Jacqueline Martinez, 20, of Chicago was found to be driving while license suspended and had a valid failure to appear warrant out of Will County for DUI. She was also charged with driving while license suspended and speeding.
Dec. 22
Police said Jose S. Almanza, 25, of Streamwood, came to the police station lobby to turn himself in on an original warrant for DUI from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
Subsequent to a traffic stop near North and Addison at 1:43 a.m., police said Brihan Martinez-Morga, 41, of Chicago, was found to be driving while license revoked and had two failure to appear warrants out of Kane and DuPage County. He was charged with driving while license revoked and suspended registration.
