PEG MARTIN, 83

   Peg Martin, 83, of Wood Dale, IL, passed away on December 2, 2025.

   Peg was born on January 9, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to Thomas and Kathleen Keon. A longtime realtor in Elmhurst, Peg served her community with dedication and pride. She also previously served as an Alderman and was deeply engaged in local civic life. Peg was married to Maurice “Marty” Martin, beloved former Police Chief of Elmhurst, and together they shared a life of love and family.

   Known for her fun spirit, Peg loved Christmas above all, delighting in decorating and baking for family and friends. She enjoyed woodworking, parades, and spending time creating memories with her loved ones. Her warmth, laughter and joy touched everyone who knew her. Peg later spent many joyful winters as a resident of The Villages, FL, where she volunteered as a clown — bringing smiles, laughter, and warmth to countless people.

   Peg is survived by her children: Andrew Martin (Fara), Susan Maginity (Christopher), Joseph Martin (Daniela), and Elizabeth Buck (Joseph). She was the cherished grandmother of Mallory McDermott (Patrick), Megan Bernard (Matthew), Jennifer Maginity, Joseph Buck, Daniel Buck, Madeline Buck, Jacob Martin, Brooke Martin, Benjamin Martin. Her legacy continues through her five great-grandchildren, Declan McDermott, Elle McDermott, Noah Bernard, Shea Bernard, Abigail Bernard, whom she adored.

   Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice “Marty” Martin, and her parents, Thomas and Kathleen Keon.
