William “Bill” Carroll Gooch, Jr., age 88, of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. Born December 30, 1936 in Clayton, Missouri to the late William Carroll and Martha Devaney Gooch.
Loving husband of 67 years to Barbara L. Gooch nee Gruett. Beloved father of Bonnie (Chris) Cheffer nee Gooch and Brad (Amy) Gooch. Devoted grandfather of Kimberly (John) Bretl, Ashley (Ian) Kalis, Keri Gooch, Courtney Gooch, and Kendall Gooch. Cherished great grandfather of Andrew Bretl and Ethan Bretl. Welcomed in heaven by daughter, Brenda Gooch.
A visitation was held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – THE AHLGRIM CHAPEL, 567 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126.
The funeral service was held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 125 W. Church Street, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
